Visions is the Tofino Art Council’s Premier Juried Art Exhibition
Showcasing the extraordinary talent and cultural diversity of the Outer Coast Communities. Hosted by the Tofino Art Council, this annual event brings together artists from Ahousaht, Opitsaht, Tofino/Načiks, Ty-Histanis, Esowista, Ucluelet, Hitacu, and Macoah for a dynamic and inspiring display of creativity.

The exhibition is for Tofino Arts Council Members – apply for membership here. Membership is free for Indigenous Artists.
Artists are encouraged to submit new work but there is no date limitation, however, the work cannot have been previously exhibited in a past Visions exhibition. All mediums welcome, though we are unable to accommodate video work at this time.ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS
Submitted pieces should reflect a thorough knowledge, understanding and technical ability within a chosen medium.
Artwork must be the original creation of the submitting artist.
All artwork must be signed.
All artwork must have a title, medium, and creation year.
Artists are invited to submit up to 2 works for jury consideration. Due to space limitations, only one work may be selected for exhibition. Diptychs or Triptychs count as one submission.

SIZE
Maximum 2D size is 36in x 48in, 48in x 36in. Due to the size of the space only a very limited number of large pieces can be included therefore smaller works are encouraged.
Photography must be framed to gallery standards.
Installations / Sculptural / 3D pieces – no larger than approximately 4 ft tall x 2ft wide
Weight: The venue has no equipment for lifting very heavy pieces
If your practice includes working with large carving/sculpture/installation there may be an opportunity to showcase these pieces online.
METHOD OF SUBMISSION FOR JURY PROCESS
Artists will submit three good quality, high-resolution photos of work (Jpg files of up to 5 MB are preferred) with their application, online between June 29th - July 27th, 2026.
One application per artist, including photos, and descriptions for each submission.
ACCEPTED WORK
An email of acceptance will be sent in August.
Accepted works must be exhibition ready – if we have questions in terms of framing/presentation we will reach out and may ask to see the work in person before the jury makes a final decision.
Accepted artists will be required to sign an Incoming Loan Form laying out the terms of agreement with the Tofino Arts Council. This is an important document for insurance and safety purposes.
A small exhibitors’ honorarium will be paid to all artists selected.
PRICING & SALES
All artwork must be available for sale.
Pricing of work to be finalized between the artist and jury.
Sales will be handled through the Tofino Arts Council and the Wickaninnish Inn with a commission charge of 40%. The balance of the sale will be delivered to the artist by cheque.
Neither the artist nor the purchaser may withdraw the piece from the show before the close of the exhibit.
