: čiisqʷał Nicki Love is a next‑generation Elder, poet, artist, and 2SLGBTQ educator. Her work blends Indigenous knowledge, creative expression, and community advocacy. Her teachings have been shared across universities and national projects, and her publications and leadership—including her role with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission—reflect her lifelong commitment to connection, compassion, and Indigenous‑centered learning.

Cedar Harvesting & Weaving (baskets, rope, roses)
Grade Suitability: Grades 7 - 12
Duration: 3 days (harvest, prepare, weave)
Capacity: 30 students
Location: Available to travel to Ahousaht, Tofino and Ucluelet*
Special requirements: transportation; must occur during harvesting season (May/June).
Cost: $2000 (includes materials; does not include transportation costs for students)

Grief and Repair

Materials: Encourage participants to bring clothing to mend. (All other materials provided; sewing needle, thread, patches, adhesive, etc.)

Grief and Repair offers a space for participants to explore concepts around personal and collective experiences of grief while engaging in simple hand-mending or patchwork practices.Rooted in Indigenous ways of knowledge sharing and story-telling, the workshop approaches grief as a natural, transformative, ongoing relationship—one that can be complex, multi-layered, and present in everyday life.

Bleach Printing
Grade Suitability: 6-12
Duration: 2 hours
Capacity: 20 students
Location: Available to travel to Ahousaht, Tofino, Ucluelet
Cost: $675
Learn to bleach-print in a low-pressure environment. We will be bringing new life to old clothes or fabrics using materials from nature and/or whatever we have on hand that we want to see reflected! Ferns, flowers, ornaments, lace, all things that can be used to bleach and decorate.

Explore the histories, evolutions, and cultural contexts of Nuu-chah-nulth queer language. This offering honours identity, expression, and community through a lens of reclamation and creation.Queer Language From Creation introduces participants to pre‑contact understandings of queerness as a fluid, relational, and land‑based framework. Centered on Indigenous principles where identity was defined through role, responsibility, and spirit, this program offers a concise re‑entry into creation‑rooted ways of belonging and connection.
