Supporting the Tofino Arts Council Supports Community Art

Thank you to all our supporters, partners, and sponsors who make our work possible:

Our Work

We run art workshops, school programs, community exhibitions and festivals, and maintain a directory of local artists. We are also the founders of the Outer Coast group of local nonprofits and host an annual Community Cultural Roundtable.

Why give?

  • We support over 80 artist members, including offering free membership to local Indigenous artists.
We manage a searchable directory of local artists and and act as advocates for artists in our community.

  • The Outer Coast network of nonprofits is a TAC and District of Tofino initiative that brings together over 30 local organizations monthly to share resources and collaborate.

  • We offer small grants to local artists who wouldn’t normally have access to any funding sources. In 2024 we distributed over 10k to 22 individuals, collectives and schools.

  • Our annual Visions exhibition offers artists an honorarium for participating (making them eligible for larger provincial and federal funding streams).

  • Our online series of Arts & Culture Walks highlight public art in our community and First Nations histories and includes hours of audio interviews with local artists and knowledge keepers.

  • We launched the online Makuw̓as market in partnership with Tourism Tofino to support local Indigenous artists.
