Emphasis will be on the abstraction process by working with complex and layered surfaces.
Born in Winnipeg and now living on BC’s Salish Sea, Alison’s painting is influenced by her background as a biologist and the years she has spent living and working close to nature. She began drawing, as many biologists do, with field and specimen sketches. Working in a botanical garden, she became enchanted with the formal beauty and meditative quality of botanical painting. Recent work explores the great versatility of acrylics paints and mediums.
Alison’s paintings are available at the Gallery Odin or through her site at alisonwatt.ca.
